To look that perfect on the wedding day, an overnight prep isn’t going to be enough. A pre-bridal session is always recommended at a makeup salon for to-be brides. Some of these sessions are known to start 2 months prior to the wedding day, although the duration strictly depends on what the session is going to include:

1.      Bleaching: Bleaching treatment is done to lighten the color of hair, and enhancing the tone of the skin. To have the perfect blend, ensure to include bleaching in your pre-bridal session, and have multiple sittings over a few months for better results.

2.      Threading: Eliminating hair from brows and upper lip gives a cleaner look. Depending on the growth cycle of hair, the last session must be done 3-4 days before the ceremonies.

3.      Facial: Depending on the texture of your skin, a facial will be recommended along with continuous skin wellness and treatment.

4.      Hair Spa: During the wedding hustle, a hair spa will be calming and soothing. It helps soften the hair and brings a shine to your hair.

5.      Body Wax: Something a bride cannot afford to miss is a good body wax. This treatment also is recommended to be done 3-4 days before the wedding depending on hair growth.

6.      Body Spa/Massage: Tired of wedding shopping? A body spa is a solution. It’s your wedding, treat yourself to this to feel relaxed and stress-free.

7.      Manicure: Nail paint isn’t enough when it comes to your wedding. The hands deserve more. Get a manicure which will ensure cuticles are removed and make nails look healthy.

8.      Pedicure: Your beautiful feet need some attention. A pedicure will help keep the feet clean and relax all the feet muscles.

There are tons of places where an Indian bride can go for her wedding makeup. You need to make sure that the salon is reputed since you don’t want to take chances on your big day!

Ayurveda and Its Treatments

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda in the literal sense means ‘Science of Life’ or ‘Knowledge of Life’. It is a traditional Hindu system of medicine. It is particularly famous in South India, especially Kerala. People from all over the world visit Kerala especially for ayurvedic treatments.

What are Ayurvedic Treatments?
Ayurvedic treatments are designed by the practitioner according to the patient’s needs. The main goal is to cleanse undigested food from the body which can be the root cause of other problems, and thus the cleansing nature of the treatment.
There are 2 types:
1. Langhana (Depleting): is further divided into two, namely Sodhana (Purification) and Samana (Pacifying).
2. Brimhna (Nourishing)
Ayurvedic treatment is done for various diseases and problems, such as respiratory problems, blood pressure, cholesterol, paralysis, etc.
What is Ayurvedic Massage?
Wondering how ayurvedic massage is different from a regular massage? Well, if you haven't gone for an ayurvedic massage, this is what you can expect. Unlike other massages, the ayurvedic massage not only treats the muscles of the body but also the nervous system. It brings intense nourishment to the cells, tissues and energy channels of the body, and also a sense of calmness to the mind.
Different oils are used in accordance with your body type. Since each individual is special and unique, the oils are prepared from herbs that are required by different individuals. Such is done in order to improve and maximize the healing process. The oil is heated until a comfortable temperature is reached. It is then again infused with Ayurvedic herbs. Using these oils is important to maintain a certain harmony and balance within the body.
The treatment or massage always starts with a consultation that lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. This involves a totally confidential health and lifestyle conversation with experts prior to the massage. This consultation is followed by an Ayurveda massage treatment catering to your requirements. The massage can last for a minimum of 30 minutes and go up to 90 minutes.
Ayurvedic massage is critical for the body and mind and hence must be done in the right way. For optimum results, be sure to get the ayurvedic massage done at a certified center.

The Best Hair Colour For You

Changing your hair color can be a very exciting option to make your life seem a little less monotonous. But, when it comes to choosing the best hair color for women, a lot goes into consideration than just what is trending.

You need to make sure that the hair color is not only something that’s trending but also suits your skin tone. So, the first step would be to determine the tone of your skin.

There are 2 aspects to determining your skin tone, i.e. undertone and shade.

Undertone is the tone of your skin that never changes, no matter the amount of sun you face, whereas, your skin shade is basically your complexion. There are 3 types; light medium and dark.

Once you’ve found out what exactly your skin tone is, the next step is to find the best hair color for your hair.

Light skinned people can go for hair colors that are lighter than their shade since it helps cast a glow on your face. So colors like light blonde, platinum, and strawberry blonde are some suggestions.

Medium-skinned people are often said to have a versatile complexion. So, they can go for colors such as walnut brown, golden caramel or copper shades and can also work with burgundy hair color.

Dark skinned people need to have a contrast between their skin tone and hair color. So, it can be lighter or darker than their skin tone. Colors like black, maple brown, along with some other rich colors (like burgundy too) are what is recommended for this skin tone.

The Kinetic Chain Theory

The concept of the kinetic chain came about in the year 1875. A series of overlapping segments were connected via joints, these interlocking joints would create a system that would allow the movement of one joint to affect the movement of another joint within the kinetic link.

It is usually assumed that having knee pain is because of a problem with the knee joint. This may not always be true. The kinetic chain theory can explain how an injury to one part of the body can lead to pain or discomfort in another part. Knee pain can be due to a knee condition or a pinched nerve in your lower back.

knee pain, lower back pain

How The Spine Can Cause Knee Pain

The nerves that give the sensation of pain to the lower body are found in the lower back. Sometimes because of a bulge in the discs located between the vertebrae, these transmitting nerves are pressed upon. A pinched or pressed nerve sends out pain signals in distress. The magnitude of the pain depends on how much the bulge press’s the nerve.

The second, third, and fourth vertebral discs lie in the lower back area, which is responsible for sending signals to the knee. A disc bulge in the lower back causes lower back pain and also can lead to knee pain, proving the kinetic chain theory accurate.

Arthritis can also lead to a compression on the nerves in the spine. When the second, third, or fourth vertebral discs suffer from arthritis there may be immense knee pain caused. These conditions can lead to many symptoms apart from knee pain;
  • Pain in the front of the thighs
  • Numbness or tingling in the thigh and leg region
  • Weakness in your hips
  • Muscle weakness in the affected area/s

Knee pain and lower back pain can cause lots of discomforts and pose as a hindrance to your everyday life, so pain management becomes necessary. It is highly recommended that you get yourself checked by a credited doctor if you experience any kind of a pain in your bones or joints, as it has a chance of becoming worse not right now, but in your later years, which can pose huge problems for you.

Manicure and Pedicure Care

Nails and hair grow on its own, but nails, just like the hair, also need to be cared for. Getting a manicure or pedicure done is not only essential for your nails but is proven to also help relax your entire body.

manicure pedicure, manicure and pedicure salons near me

Top tips from Dermatologists:

1.   Moisturise the nails: It is important to apply a good cream to moisturise the nails. It’s even more important to do so after removing nail polish since most of the removers contain chemicals that dry the nails and skin.

2.  Protect the cuticles: Remember to never cut or forcefully pull/push back the cuticles. Doing so can cause infection.

Does your nail technician have the necessary experience and/or license, if required?

3. Cleanliness and hygiene: Many manicures and pedicure salons follow strict cleanliness guidelines, but you must look for the following when visiting a manicure-pedicure salon:

If the nail technician has the necessary experience and/or certification.
See if the environment of the manicure and pedicure salon is clean
Observe if the nail technician wash their hands between clients

4.  Shaving legs: Shave the lower half of the legs only after getting a pedicure. Doing it before a pedicure can put you at risk of an infection. Or you must shave the lower half of the legs at least 24 hours before the pedicure.

5.  Colour: In case you want to apply a bright colour of nail polish, such as a red or an orange, to prevent discoloration ask the manicure or pedicure provider to add an extra layer of base coat before the main colour.

6.  Artificial nails: It is recommended that people who are prone to fungal infections or who have brittle nails avoid wearing artificial nails to cover up nail problems as they may make the situation worse.

There are many manicure and pedicure salons near me and you but it is vital to not only depend on the service providers for the caring of nails, but you must also look after and nurture your nails. With several manicure and pedicure salons near me, I still must look into the precautions stated above before getting a manicure and pedicure done. For the safety and well-being of your nails, it is important you do so too.

Common you are not a baby anymore! An average woman must consume 1500 calories a day while an average man should consume 2000 calories a day, making this diet plan a bad idea as it not only brings down the normal intake requirements but also lacks in fibers needed for digestion. The Total Guide for Hair Re-bonding

To begin with, let’s see what hair re-bonding is - the proteins in human hair form bonds that determine the structure of your hair, i.e. straight, wavy, or curly. Hair rebonding involves chemically changing the hair by breaking down the natural bonds and then rebuilding them to alter the texture of your hair.

hair rebonding

The duration to complete one re-bonding treatment depends upon the length, type, and thickness of the hair. The end result leaves you with silky, shiny, and sleek hair. This elaborate process can be broken down into the following steps:

STEP 1: Hair is first washed without any conditioner and then dried completely with a blow dryer on medium heat level.

STEP 2: A cream softener or relaxant is applied well, keeping it straight. It is left on the hair for half an hour and more, or less, depending upon the hair type.

STEP 3: After that, the hair is steamed for 10 to 40 minutes, depending on the hair type and condition, and then rinsed.

STEP 4: Hair is blow dried and then keratin lotion is applied.

STEP 5: A flat iron is used by a salon expert to further straighten the hair and remove the remaining curls. This is done until the hair is satisfactorily straight and shiny.

STEP 6: Hair is then parted and a neutraliser is applied for a minimum of 30 minutes. It is then rinsed off with cold water. The neutraliser is used to set the bonds and stabilise the hair.

STEP 7: Hair is blow dried once again, a post which hair serum is applied.

A final ironing session is done with the straightening iron, at the end of which the hair will appear silky, straight and shiny.

The most frequently after a question is - how much does it cost? Although the price depends on the hair stylist, the treatment should start at a minimum of Rs. 7000 to Rs. 10,000. On top of this is an additional cost of hair spas that need to be done on a monthly basis and hair products that need to be purchased so that the hair remains beautiful and healthy after the treatment.
